Nothing survives of this mill which once stood just upstream of the City’s West Gate. Cock Mill was a small structure with a single waterwheel, and it was demolished in the 19th century. The additional head of water made available by its disappearance was utilised by Dean’s Mill, the next site downstream, so the river now flows deep and wide through what is now a public garden area, with not a sign that there was ever a mill here.
